CARE INSTRUCTIONS (NO WASHING MACHINES!)
Routine Cleaning: Wipe it down: After wearing, wipe the exterior with a soft, damp microfiber cloth to remove dust and surface dirt.Spot clean stains: Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water. Dip a cloth in the soapy water, wring it out completely, and gently wipe the stain.Dry immediately: Buff the area dry with a clean towel.
Never let water sit on cowhide.🧴
Conditioning & ProtectionApply leather conditioner: Use a high-quality leather conditioner every 6 to 12 months to keep the cowhide supple. Brands like Bickmore Bick 4 or Lexol Leather Conditioner work excellently without darkening the leather.Test first: Always test cleaners or conditioners on a small, hidden area (like inside the armpit) to ensure it doesn’t alter the color.
Waterproofing: If you wear it in the rain often, apply a breathable water-repellent spray specifically formulated for genuine leather.🌬️
Drying & StorageAir dry naturally: If your jacket gets soaked, hang it on a wide, padded hanger at room temperature. Keep it far away from direct heat sources like radiators, hair dryers, or direct sunlight, which cause cowhide to shrink and crack.Use a padded hanger: Always store your letterman jacket on a thick wooden or padded hanger to preserve the shape of the heavy cowhide shoulders. Wire hangers will crease and ruin the silhouette.
Breathable storage: Store it in a cool, dry, dark closet. If you use a garment bag for off-season storage, make sure it is made of breathable cloth, never plastic, which traps moisture and breeds mold.
